November 16, 2020
Dear Members and Friends of St. John’s Church,
Congratulations! on the calling of your New Rector, the Rev. Jill LaRoche-Wikel! I am so excited and happy for you and Rev. Jill. I know that you will have an excellent ministry together.
I also want to commend the Search and Profile Committees as well as the Vestry for conducting an excellent Search Process. The process was completed in good time.
Our job now is to prepare for your new ministry together with your new Rector when Rev. Jill officially begins her ministry at St. John’s on Jan. 15, 2021. This is also a time for us to say our goodbyes.
My last Sunday with you as your Interim Rector is Dec. 27, 2020. Regardless of the restrictions forced upon us by the Corona Virus pandemic, I am very much looking forward to celebrating another Christmas Season with you. And we will have plenty of time to say our goodbyes over the final few weeks we have together. My pastoral relationship with you will end, but friendships may continue.
Beginning this Sunday, Nov. 22, we will have Zoom Fellow Time on Sundays at 11:15 am, following our 10:00 am live-streamed worship. These Zoom Fellowship Times will continue through the four Sundays in Advent and will be opportunities for us to gather virtually and safely from our homes. They will also be a time for us to say our goodbyes. I look forward to seeing you all then.
Please stay safe. Wear masks. Wash your hands. Observe physical distancing, and avoid crowds.
Christ’s Peace,
Fr. Dan +
