Sunday worship scripture lessons are taken from the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible with the Apocrypha. Sunday readings are based on the Revised Common Lectionary. This is a three-year lectionary used by most major denominations worldwide. Year A is based on Matthew’s Gospel, Year B on Mark’s Gospel, and Year C on Luke’s Gospel. Readings from John’s Gospel are interspersed throughout each year and especially in Year B since Mark is the shortest Gospel.
If you were to be in church every Sunday for three years, you would hear much of the Bible.
