Church Custodian (Sexton)
Saint John’s is a progressive, vibrant and family-oriented congregation with an average Sunday attendance of 95 parishioners and we are seeking a part-time Custodian (Sexton). The Sexton is responsible for making sure the church is maintained and clean, setting up Sunday Coffee Hour fellowship, and special events. The position requires strong maintenance skills and the ability to work independently.

Essential Functions
• Hours are on Sundays from 7:00-8:30 and 9:30-12:30 (approximately 4-5 hours every Sunday)
• Special events: setting up/cleaning up for funerals and rentals of our Parish Hall
• Ensure all parts of the Church and Parish Hall are tidy and clean, including restrooms
• Open buildings for worship on Sunday mornings; lock and secure all buildings
• Set up for Sunday Coffee Hour Fellowship; wash dishes (commercial dishwasher); breakdown tables and chairs; sweep/ mop floors
• At least two years of related janitorial or custodial experience strongly preferred
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and climb stairs and ladders as needed
• Ability to set up and move tables and chairs, set up for events, and to use cleaning and maintenance materials and equipment safely
• Criminal background clearances required
• Compensation is $20-$24 / hour, paid biweekly
