Sip & Stroll : Green Team Fundraiser – Thursday, May 29, 4-7 PM

St John’s Green Team invites you to our second Sip and Stroll fundraiser from 4:00- 7:00pm. The Millers will open their gardens for you to see peonies in bloom. They have a collection of over 120 varieties, and many will be in bloom at this time. They have collected them over the 27 years in this home. The $10.00 entry fee per person, to be paid at the garden, will help the green team continue their beautification projects such as the crocus river in the front lawn and increase the tree canopy in the church field and woods. There will be two guided tours for you to choose from. One tour gathers at the driveway at 4:30 and takes you around the garden beds sharing information on the various types of peonies and fragrances. Pointers for growing peonies will be shared, and you can see a small peony nursery where tree peony grafts are being propagated. The second tour will take place at 6:00 for those who can make it later. There will be refreshments to enjoy and time to socialize.

Wear comfortable walking shoes/sneakers as we will be walking on the lawn and garden paths for the tours. The gardens are at the home of Bernie and Debbie Miller, 1730 Walnut Hill Blvd., Media, PA which is off Route 1/Baltimore Pike. There is parking on the circle as well as on Walnut Hill Blvd.

PS: The money raised last year helped to purchase 1000 crocus, long reach grabbers for the Concord Road clean up crew and supplies to help protect newly planted trees from deer.
